Will Not Support HDMI to DisplayPort
Sorry folks our current solution doesn’t allow you to go from a HDMI output to DisplayPort input.nnIts a power signal issue. The HDMI specification does not support the DisplayPort LVDS (Low-voltage differential signaling) protocol. HDMI TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) operates at 5v. The DisplayPort input on a display will only accept the LVDS 3.3v DisplayPort signal. You need a specific active adapter that will convert the HDMI TMDS signal at 5v to DisplayPort LVDS at 3.3v. The conversion uses more power than the receptacle can provide so an external power source is required.nnBe careful using any cable that advertises the power required to conduct this conversion is built into the cable itself. It is not possible as the DisplayPort specification transmits 3.3v of power on pin 20 and HDMI transmits 5v of power on pin 18. Attempting to use one of these falsely advertised cables could result in a short and damage to your equipment.
