The cable is able to bend at the crimp point allowing the most flexibility possible within the rack. Also the lack of a snagless covering makes it easy to disengage the cable from the patch panel itself. All of a sudden those hard to reach places in the rack become very easy to access with Cat6 non-booted patch cables.
