Grade 5 Hex Cap Screws are made from carbon steel and are used in applications where medium strength is necessary, typically those where controlled clamp force and high loads are required. These screws can be screwed into internally tapped holes or used with a nut. Grade 5 Hex Cap Screws should always be used with a hardened washer under the turned component.
